The Stylus

A stylus is basically a writing tool which, in modern use, serves as an accessory to various electronic devices like cellphones and computers. It is considered an input device used together with PDAs, graphic tablets, Tablet PCs, and UMPCs for writing, sketching, or simply screen navigation. This tool allows users to relate to computer related devices without the use of the human finger. This is better because the stylus doesn't secrete any substance while the fingers may apply the skin's natural oil onto the screen of the device held. There are different types of styluses according to the materials they are made of. There is wood, composite plastic and rubber.

Stylus pens usually come with the devices to which they are used for. Some examples of these devices are the Wacom CTE450W Tablet PC, Nokia 5800, and the Nintendo DS.
